Miami-Dade Blocks Voters Standing in Line from Using the Bathroom

Republicans will never stop trying to take your vote! So we have to be more relentless. Image

Reminiscent of the elections of 2012, 2008, back years ad infinitum, the Republicans are once again trying to keep citizens from their constitutional right to vote. This latest tactic by the Florida GOP to, not only create long lines at polling places, but to close the restrooms to the voting public is about as dastardly as it gets. In response to disability rights lawyer, Marc Dubin’s question on whether restrooms were handicapped accessible, Republican legislators said that all restrooms would be closed on election day to ensure that individuals with disabilities are not treated unfairly”.

Such bullshit. But you know how “conservatives” do it. If you can’t win fairly, cheat! And they know they can’t win fairly because the people ain’t buying what they’re selling.

But The People do have a strong track record, particularly in recent years, of pushing back against such obvious attempts to disenfranchise them. It’s imperative to keep our eyes open and not let the greedy bastards pull the wool over them. The only power they have is to convince us they have it when in reality, it’s We, The People who are the true masters of our destiny. Even if it’s a slow trod, we are waking up.

This November, Republicans will fail once again to fool the majority but only if we stand up and exercise our right to cast our vote.

“I was expecting them to say either yes we have or yes we will,” Dubin said.

Instead, he received a written response announcing that the county would close all restrooms at polling places “to ensure that individuals with disabilities are not treated unfairly,” a January email stated. “[T]he Department’s policy is not to permit access to restrooms at polling sites on election days,” Assistant County Attorney Shanika Graves said in a Feb. 14 email.
