The Second Inaugural Ceremony for President Barack Hussein Obama

The 57th Inauguration ceremony for President of the United States — the second for President Barack Hussein Obama — is a solidifying moment in our nation’s history.

The first time we elected President Obama, it was a social experiment for some. Yea, he was the cool Black guy and he sounded good with all that “We are the ones …” and “Change we can believe in” stuff.  But could he deliver?

Yes, yes and a thousand times YES! President Obama delivered in his first term, confirmed by his reelection which should put the doubters to rest. I’ll leave the romp in the policy weeds to others. I just want to bask in this feeling that, in spite of all the challenges before us, actually because of them, the American electorate stepped up, trusting the President’s vision to continue to move the country forward.

The reelection of President Obama has sent a beautiful resounding wave of hope, in spite of the daunting challenges. Hope is what has always saved humanity from despair and will continue to be our saving grace. It is what spurs us on in the face of impossible odds and fortifies things once in decline.

I’m fully enjoying the celebrations today.

Tomorrow, the work continues.
